Building your profile

This is an overview of how to build your profile on Student networking

The first thing you need to do is log in on by typing in your username and password in the Log on section

At the top you will see tabs such as Your Blogs, Your files etc.. Go to Your Profile which will take you to your profile page
At the top of the profile page you will see options to Edit your profile, Change site picture & Add widget

You are Allowed 2 pictures on your profile, 1 that can represent you as you go round the site and may appear on the random members section at the front of the site. The second picture is your actual profile picture that people can see on your profile when they are connected to you as frineds.


To Edit your profile click on the Edit this profile option at the top of your profile page.
You will now be able to edit basic information, Location details, Contact details, Employment details, Industry & Education details.
In Basic Details tab you can add your photo by clicking on browse and taking the picture from your machine to upload. This is the photo that people will see once on your profile and when they are connected with you.

You can insert a short intro about yourself and maybe why people would want to connect with you.You can also add information about your goals maybe what industry you would like to enter and also what your skills are.

For each piece of information you add you will be given the option to make it public or keep it private or to only make it available to logged in users. We suggest you make your information available to logged in users only, so that you can make the most of the website and network. We suggest you do not make your information completely public for your secutiry and also so you can have complete control over your profile and no one can tamper with it.

When you have fininshed updating your profile don’t forget to click on the save your profile button so you don't lose your changes.

Once again the photo you upload in this section is the one people see once they enter your profile page.

The photo on the top right hand column is what people see as they browse around the site and this can be anything you like within the realms of decency and good taste. To change this click on change site picture and you upload a new picture by browsing and uploading in the same way that you do your profile picture.

To add a widget to your profile just click on add widget at the top of your profile page and this will allow you to choose from and add a video widget, blog widget, files widget and many more, have a quick look through them. Try some and see how they look.
